Welcome to Team Ghostbusters!
I’m Kristy, Executive Director of HBOT4Heroes, and joining me on race day is my family. They see firsthand how much this mission means to me, and I’m so proud of them for always supporting HBOT4Heroes and standing beside me as we work to heal our heroes and keep families together.
Since we’re running on Halloween, I let my 11-year-old son choose our costumes. We talked about the typical superheroes, but then he said, “Ghostbusters!” and I immediately thought, “That’s it. It’s perfect!”
Ghosts are often things we can’t see, and the wounds our veterans carry are often invisible too. PTSD, traumatic brain injury, depression, anxiety, and the battles that can lead someone to lose hope aren’t always visible from the outside. But they are very real.
Every day through HBOT4Heroes, I have the privilege of seeing what can happen when we restore brain health and refuse to let our veterans fight those battles alone. And since we’re all playing a part in carrying that mission forward, I guess in our own way, we really are the Ghostbusters!
